Different Types Of Rambo Rugs For Various Uses

By Arline Bradley

Most modern homes are simply not complete without an animal as a member of the family. It is not unusual to visit the home of someone you know and see an array of pets like birds, cat, dogs, even rats. The more brave ones keep spiders and snakes and other poisonous creatures. Some are fascinated with bugs. Still most others have with them relatively bigger pets like cows and horses and other four legged creatures who wear rambo rugs on their backs.

The most common reason why people decide to live with animals around the house is for the comfort and companionship they give. Even without other people in the house, some are just content with having to snuggle with a pet to relieve stress from working all day. Some pets double as guardians. Their presence is enough to make a human being feel safe enough and be able to sleep comfortably every night.

Another factor why people keep animals is to augment finances. Domestic chickens, ducks, and cows produce items you can sell like fresh eggs and milk, respectively. They are raised by farm people as a source of money. Some animals, especially horses, are kept for sport related reasons and show competitions. Some even take pride of the horse breeds under their care and put them up for horse racing.

Yes, people have varied underlying reasons for having animals around the house. But whatever this may be, you should always be responsible for their total well being. You have to feed them with clean and appropriate food to keep them nourished. You should also provide them with a clean supply of water. They also need protection from harsh elements so you have to house them properly. Aside from these basic needs, you may also need to buy products for additional care.

Horses, in particular, have a different set of needs and wants. They need to have a stable where they could stay, because you obviously can not keep them inside the house. They also need a lot of room where they can move around. You can keep them fit by allowing them to exercise by running unrestrained on huge open areas like pastures. If you do not have grasslands nearby where they can graze, you need to bring them fresh forage everyday.

This makes them vulnerable from sudden changes in temperature. To offer the necessary protection, horse blankets or rugs are available in the market. There are many kinds of these rugs, and each is used to serve different functions.

One such type is the turnout blanket. It is made up of warm material that will help the horse retain body heat to keep it warm during winter and cold weather. Its warmness also depends on its weight, so you can choose between the heavyweight, medium and lightweight turnout. Neck rugs to protect the head and neck are almost often paired with this type of rug to provide utmost protection against the cold.

If there is a rug for cold weather, there is also one for when it is warm. This is also known as the fleece blanket. It has an uncanny ability to soak up water and sweat, keeping the beast cool.

A horse is not an animal that you can use for a while and leave it in a corner, unattended. To prolong their life span, they need maximum care and attention from their owners. Remember, these beasts love you and will do anything for you. You just have to return their love by taking good care of them.
